Work Experience;

I have worked in a range of creative/ media related sectors, including;

Product Designer

I have recently started working on a new project, in conjunction with a product design company. Currently this involves creating designs for various Fashion related products and accessories.

Freelance Photographer

Since May 2006 I have been a self- employed Freelance photographer working on a range of landscape and documentary projects. These have included a feature documenting Clifford Primary School` s 'History Week’ activities for publication in local newspapers and magazines, private commisions including the production of a Calender featuring images of the landscape surrounding Hay on Wye, and my own Art - Photography projects exploring issues surrounding the environment which have been exhibited in various Entertainment Venues, Galleries, online exhibitions and Arts Festivals.

Voluntary Work; Photographers Assistant; http://www.ruggeromengoni.com/fashion.php

I undertook this voluntary work placement in Florence, Italy, working as an assistant to Photographer Ruggero Mengoni as part of the Leonardo Da Vinci project and Europass initiative. This project involved 3 weeks study of the Italian language. My role during this placement involved assisting with all aspects of photographic work from project conception through to realisation on a range of projects including still life, High end fashion, 3D imaging, production of images for websites and music video production for a well known Italian band. I mainly assisted with lighting, setting up the studio, image formatting and filing, and image editing using Photoshop.

Voluntary Work; Gallery Manager.

I set up and managed an Art Gallery in Hay on Wye; The Hourglass. This was a self- initiated project, created in conjunction with a new business that was opening in the same premises selling artefacts. I conceived of the idea, negotiated with potential colleagues, designed, co- ordinated and decorated the premises, and managed the project throughout. This included being responsible for production and distribution of all marketing and promotion materials, exhibition conception, initiating, planning, co- ordinating, curating, installing and invigilating, networking and forming of relationships with local artists and arts organisations, planning of and production of exhibition opening nights, and being responsible for all associated administrative duties.

This was a very successful project and some of the results were; participation in Hereford Art Week, a 'local landscape' exhibition as part of Hay on Wye Fringe Festival, 2 exhibitions collaborating with Hay Camera Club, and an exhibition exploring the relationship between abstract art and photography. I also ran a functioning artists studio and darkroom on the premises.

I will be evidencing my acquisition of these skills on this Blog so stay tuned..!!!!!!
Throughout my career I have needed to seek out challenges for myself and be very flexible as you never know what is going to come your way!.......
