Guyermo Del Torro` s storyboards;

really good to look at. Storyboards which are works of Art in themselves. Did Pan` s Labyrinth, Hell Boy.

A good example of a extreme close up; ‘The good, the bad and the ugly’. Film of the eyes moving backwards and forwards.

Mid-shot; from the waist up.

Long shot/ Wide shot; includes the whole scene. e.g., London used in the background of James Bond. Adds atmosphere.

Tilt; up and down Pan.

Pan; scan from left to right.

Whip pan; really fast pan

pan and tilt; circular motion.

Crane; high up shot from a crane

a Dolly; if it` s on wheels or a track

Spider; trolley on wheels

Point of view shot; Looking through the actor ` s eyes. Used so that we can empathise with that character.

Over the shoulder shot; view from behind the actor.

Low angle shot; Someone` s on the floor looking up. Viewer knows this through the shot.

Very slow paced editing; shows emotions.

Fast paced editing; action, drama, excitement.

Iconic images; Michelangelo` s painting of the hand touching God ` s hand. used a lot in advertising, etc. You subconsciously identify with it.

Sound; used to build emotion.

Using a cartoon like effect; so that you identify it with the associated video game/ comic .i.e Spiderman.

actor running- camera will be on a track.

Quick cuts, Disorientating shots; reflect (Spiderman` s ) state of mind e.g, during action scenes.
