I gave the students a map of Glastonbury and got them to think of it as a business. They had to cut out the labels from the sheet below and stick them onto the map, colour coding them into 3 separate areas; INCOME...EXPENDITURE...TRADE.

Budgeting Task



Think about your idea for a performance, whether its a pop one or a musical theatre one. If you haven' t got an idea yet, make it up.


You have a budget of £500.


The hire of the venue is £200.

Each band member or actor you hire costs £50

catering is £100

every member of staff you hire costs £5/ hour.

Come up with a business plan on a separate sheet;
